What Pairs Best With Fish?

Almost everyone I know likes some type of fish. Me myself, I prefer Salmon, Cod, Tilapia, Flounder and Brim. I mostly like light and flaky fish! I do love some marinated, grilled, or baked Salmon as well! My Salmon has to have some taste! I usually do a brown sugar, fresh minced garlic, soy sauce and red pepper flaked marinade. No recipe, I just taste and tweak to my liking! With my new found passion for vino at least once a day I decided to find out what pairs best with fish among the wine varietals. So I found the following cheat sheet on the web paired with some of our best sellers from ONE HOPE:

Zesty Sauces– Light white wines with citrus notes.

California Sauvignon Blanc

Sweet (Teriyaki style) Sauces– The sweeter the sauce- the sweeter the wine. Try to up the ante by a notch or two.

2017 California Muscat Canelli

Spicy Sauces– If you taste chili powder, reach for the Riesling.

2016 Central Coast Reserve Riesling

Curry Sauces– Think sweet. Wines like Riesling or Moscato work best.

Peach Flavored Sparkling Demi Sec

Savory Sauces– Smell basil, parsley, dill or capers? This is the perfect time to order a glass of Sauvignon Blanc.

2015 Estate Sauvignon Blanc

Smoked Meat- These meats tend to be a bit drier, and benefit greatly from a sparkling wine.

Citron Flavored Sparkling Demi Sec

I mean feel free to drink your wine with just the glassware and good friends, but hey a girls gotta eat!
